Test FAQs
Which test should I choose?
The best test is determined by the role that you’re hiring for and/or qualification level. We’ve created the Which Test Table to help you identify the best test for your needs.
How long do the tests take?
Test durations vary. Please check the product information for each test for specific test duration. Candidates should allow an additional 10 minutes to fill in their details and answer some practice questions.
Can test times be extended?
There is no extra time allowances for the tests. Many of our tests are normed - meaning a candidate can be compared to a group of test takers who sat the test under the same conditions and given a comparative score. Time allowances are detailed at the beginning of the test so that candidates can manage the questions appropriately. Please also see our Testing Considerations page for information regarding disability, English as a second language, or dyslexic conditions.
How many times can I use each test link?
Each test purchased provides one test link. If you have multiple candidates, you will need multiple test links. Test links are single use so be careful not to click the link before the candidate does.
Do test links expire?
Any tests purchased will always access the latest version of the test and so do not expire.
When/How are test results delivered?
Results are compiled into a report and delivered to the test buyer as soon as the candidate has completed the test. Reports should arrive within a few seconds of the test being completed.
Can I see the test questions and answers?
Exact questions do not feature in reports, nor do we release the question or answer list. This is to protect the integrity of the tests and stand by assurances given to our customers. Detail on what skill or ability the question was testing for is provided in the report, as is the question topic and difficulty.
Can I see the exact questions my candidate got wrong?
Reports include detail of what skill or ability was being tested with each question, along with topic and difficulty level. Exact questions do not feature in reports, nor do we release the question or answer list. This is to protect the integrity of the tests and stand by assurances given to our customers.
Can I see some example questions?
You can find example questions on each test’s product page. Candidate’s will also see these as practice questions at the beginning of each test to get them comfortable with the layout & navigation before starting.
How will I know if the candidate has completed the test?
You will receive a Report Notification email as soon as the test has been completed. If you believe your candidate has completed the test but you have not received an email, please try these troubleshooting solutions:
- Check your junk folder or workplace email filters
- Log in to the testing platform check the status of the test

Proctoring FAQs
What is Proctoring?
Proctoring is an AI powered anti-cheating measure built into all of our tests. Throughout the duration of the test the participants webcam will capture images to detect and record any instances of cheating. At the end of the test a report will be available to the test purchaser outlining any infractions.

Report FAQs
What does a report contain?
Reports contain a candidate’s overall score, score breakdown by topic and difficulty, and question summary. Normed tests also include a candidate's comparative score. Note, exact questions do not feature in reports but detail on what skill or ability the question was testing for is provided. Accountants Personality Profile (APPQ) reports include interview questions and development insights.
I need help understanding my report

Why do I have to login to access my report?
Test reports contain personal details and sensitive information that should not be shared outside of hiring or professional development purposes. The requirement of logging in to access reports and candidate results increases privacy protection for those whose data is being held.
Accessing a Candidate’s Report When They Complete a Test
When a candidate completes a test you will receive a Report Notification email with a link directly to that report. Simply click on the link, enter your log in details, and your report will automatically download (please save it securely).
Accessing Candidate Reports With Your Report Access Link
Each time you make a purchase you will receive a Report Access Link email. This link directs you to the new testing platform where you will find a history of all your test purchases and reports.
- If it is your first purchase please follow the instructions in the email to set up an new account.
- If you already have an account, sign in to the testing platform
- Click on “Analysis Centre”
- Click on “Campaigns”
- You’ll see all of your test purchases listed in tiles. The number at the start of each heading is the order number, followed by the test name and the date of purchase.
- Click the heading of the test you’d like to see the report for.
- Here you will find a list of all candidates to complete the test.
- Clicking on the corresponding link under ‘Reports’ will download a copy of that report to your device.
Accessing Proctoring Reports
- Log in to the testing platform
- Click on “Manage Remote Proctoring”
- Search for the correct test by scrolling the tiles, or using the search bar with the order number of name of test.
- Select the test tile, select the candidate, and view the report
- The report will show the candidate’s photo and list any infractions that occurred during the test.
Purchase FAQs
What will I receive for my purchase?
Within 1-2 minutes of purchasing you will receive x3 emails:
- Your order confirmation
- Your test link(s) and instructions
- Your personalised link to accessing the testing platform
As soon as the test has been completed you will receive an email with access to the report.

I purchased the wrong test, can I change it?
If you have purchased the wrong test please contact us at help@accountests.com and we can work this through with you. Exchanges on tests of the same price are free and price differences in replacement tests will either be refunded/charged accordingly.
Do you offer bulk discounts or subscriptions?
Yes! We offer discounts on purchases of 5+ tests. Depending on your needs we may be able to tailor something for you, please email us at help@accountests.com
Can I get a refund?
Tests purchased have no "use by" date and will always access the most recent version of our tests. If you have purchased the wrong test please contact us at help@accountests.com and we can work this through with you. Exchanges are free, unless the replacement test is more expensive.

Account FAQs
How do I create an Accountests account?
Creating an Accountests account is required to make purchases from the website. It allows you to see all your purchases in one place.
- After adding tests to your cart you will be prompted to create an account.
- On the Accountests log in page, click on Create Account
- Enter your details and click Submit
- Your account is now created and you can continue with your purchase
I forgot my Accountests website password
- Go to the Accountests log in page
- Click on Forgot your password?
- Enter your email address and click Submit
- You will receive an email with a link to reset your password
- Return to the Accountests log in page and use your new password to log in
I forgot my testing platform password
- Go to the testing platform
- Click on I’ve forgotten my password
- Enter your email address and click Send Reset Link
- You will receive an email with a link to reset your password
- Return to the testing platform and use your new password to log in
Candidate FAQs
Can I share the results with my candidate?
Sharing results with your candidates is entirely at you or your firms discretion. If hired, we recommend using a candidate's results as a basis for further training and benchmarks.

General FAQs
How does the testing process work?
You purchase a test from the website. You are immediately emailed a link, which you send to your candidate. They click the link and complete the test. Within a few seconds of completion you get a comprehensive report on how well they did.
Why would I use one of these tests?
The tests help you hire better accountants and bookkeepers. Know their technical capabilities and shortfalls before you hire them (rather than find out 3 months later!).
Are the tests valid in my country?
Accountests has country specific tests and websites for the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as a global offering. Tests are updated annually to match country regulations. Check which website location you are on by looking for the flag in the top right corner of the page. Change country by clicking the flag and selecting from the dropdown menu.

How many times can I use each test link?
Test links are single use. Purchase multiple tests for multiple candidates.
How do I know which test to choose?
Tests are based on the qualifications and experience required for the role you’re hiring for. Check out the Which Test Table - a helpful guide to choosing tests by role

My test links didn’t arrive…
If you've made a purchase and Test Link(s) haven't arrived in your inbox within 5 minutes, please check your junk or filtered inboxes as
emails from the testing platform will sometimes be diverted. The emails will be coming from accountests@evolveassess.com. If you still can’t find it, email us at help@accountests.com
How do I access test reports?
When a candidate completes a test results are compiled into a report which is emailed to the test purchaser. The Report Notification email contains a link to download the report - simply click the link, enter your log in details, and your report will automatically download. First time users will need to follow the instructions in the email to set up an account before
accessing reports. Alternatively, customers can log in to the testing platform and navigate to the report via the Analysis Centre > Campaigns > and selecting the correct test. More information on accessing reports can be found on the Troubleshooting page.

Can I get a refund?
Test links do not expire and will always access the most recent version of the test. If you have purchased the wrong test, please contact us at help@accountests.com and we’ll exchange it for you.
